Aspartame : The hidden evil of the century…

Q. How did we find out that aspartame is harmful to health?
R. As we can see from reading 2 articles published in 95 in the American magazine Nexus (to know more, it is recommended to read the translation of these articles available at:
The very first studies of the effects of aspartame in monkeys conducted in 1969 by dr. Harry Waisman unequivocally revealed its harmfulness.
Several other independent studies have since corroborated this fact.. But the aspartame was still approved. Comment?
The FDA committee (Food and Drug Administration) responsible for reviewing applications for approval of new products refused during 16 years to authorize the use of this product in human food because of studies demonstrating its harmfulness.
But former President Ronald Reagan, a friend of the president of the company Searle who concocted the aspartame (Searle has since been acquired by Monsanto, the infamous multinational that has developed many transgenic plants), put at the door of the FDA the chief commissioner who at the time refused to get aspartame approved against the advice of his own experts.
He appointed in his place Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes who did not have the slightest hesitation in imposing 1986 approval of aspartame despite initial opposition from a majority of FDA Review Committee members.
A little after, this sad character quit and was hired for a high salary by Searle's public relations firm. Since then he has systematically refused to make any public statement on this subject..
